I got the microscope, an AmScope B120C-E1 Siedentopf Binocular Compound Microscope, on a whim to take to an Amish country cabin vacation with some old friends. We got a glass of scummy water from the pond, and proceeded to look around, having no idea what we’re doing. I chose the microscope because it came with a camera, which we hooked up to my old laptop to get a view.
The camera on the laptop gets about one frame every two seconds, but it does take some decent stills for being cheap and included in the kit. This website will serve as a dumping ground for all of the nifty things me and my friends find while perusing around muck water and other backyard curiosities.
Microscope bros for life. And, yes, microscopy is much better with properly applied face paint.
